Now that the new BMW M6 GT3 car is on its way to replace the Z4 GT3 in all motorsport events, most private racing companies are looking to get rid of their stock. The problem is, the market for second-hand race cars is extremely limited, to avoid calling it as it is: nearly non-existent.
However, intelligent solutions around this issue can be found, and the guys from Marc VDS might be on to something here. They are now selling one of their Z4 GT3 models, but they turned it into a race taxi before splitting ways.

This move allows them to cater to a wider audience. Let’s say you want to show your sponsors how it’s done or impress a friend or two with your skills on the track. You can’t use a standard GT3 car because it only has one seat. This car, though, has two of them and the conversion was done by professionals in a professional manner.

What we’re looking at here is chassis 1038 from 2013, modified for two-seat usage. It was driven only by highly-skilled people and maintained to the highest expectations.

The modifications done to it include a relocation of the battery, ABS, ECU, P400 and GCU units, the brake lines go through the cockpit and the passenger belt points were added to the mix for proper safety. There’s also an adjustable foot rest included, the fire extinguisher’s location was changed, while the fuel cell was modified by ATL Ltd.

As for the car, it manages to post a rather impressive trial of titles over the years as the list below can attest:
  • 24h of Spa 2015 - charity car, limited mileage
  • VLN4 2014: 2nd
  • VLN2 2014: 5th
  • 24H Quali race 2014: 1st
  • VLN1 2014: 7th
  • VLN7 2013: 1st
  • BES Nurburgring 2013: 2nd
  • BES Paul Ricard2013: 1st
  • 24h of Nurburgring 2013: 2nd

In total, the chassis has 33,121 km (20,580 miles) on it and has been rebuilt 2,525 km (1569 miles) ago. This rebuild also covered the 4.4-liter V8 engine (total mileage: 16,705 km), the gearbox (total mileage 8,725 km) and dampers (KW 3-way).

Unfortunately, pricing is not available right now but do expect it to be quite high considering that this is a true GT3 car, no matter how many seats it has inside.
