Ok, we’ll be the first to admit that the Z1 might not be the prettiest car BMW ever designed but still, the technology and approach to the industry that it proposed are noteworthy and attractive to any fan of the brand.
In was back at the end of the 1980s when the Germans were introducing a car with doors that would slide down instead of opening like any other automobile on the street. It also featured a body made out of a special kind of plastic blocks that could be completely replaced if need be.

It was a new approach on the same traditional values in the industry, unfortunately one that didn’t catch up. Even so, today we have the successors of the Z1 still roaming the streets only that they are called Z4 instead after going through the Z3 nomination for a while.

Only 8,000 units were ever built and you’d have to search long and hard to find a pristine one that you can still use. Interested? Well, you’re in luck as the guys from Classic Driver have one for sale that looks and seems brand new.

According to their ad, the odometer shows only 888 km (552 miles) and the paintwork is 100 percent original and in perfect shape. The chassis number 26 car also has a good old fashion 6-cylinder 2.5-liter engine under the bonnet making 170 HP and 218 Nm (161 lb-ft) of torque hooked up to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Looking at the photos, things look absolutely pristine both in and out but it’s hard to tell everything about this car just by looking at these photos as they can easily be altered. If you’re interested, you should check it in person first, as the €57,200 price tag the Dutch seller is asking for it isn’t exactly pocket change...
