I thought various rankings and tops would end now that we’re in 2014 but as it turns out, the guys from Jalopnik are relentless. They just put together another top, including the 10 cars that should ‘die’ this year.
Whilst I do agree with the fact that some cars are utterly useless and ugly, making absolutely no sense to keep on coming out of the assembly lines (heck, I’ll go as far as saying that whole brands should call it quits these days - Buick, for example), I don’t agree with their list’s number 1: the E71 X6 M.
Come one guys, I know this SAC is not practical and might not be the best off-roader but it’s a lot of fun to drive it. It’s rather unusual to sit so high and have so much fun even on a track with a car that weight over 2 tones.
You really have to admire what BMW pulled off here, managing to turn a heavy, tall car into a fun, all-around, blood-pressure raising monster that does 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds.
If you’re really set on making the X6 obsolete, maybe other, less powerful (and fun) models should be pulled out of production, but not the M version. That’s just my opinion, though. How about yours?
PS: if for other cars, various users posted a reason why they should 'die', for the Bimmer there's no such courtesy. I wonder why...
