We've known for many years that Russians are bad drivers. Many people think that because they have more money, they can get away with everything. But cash won't stop you from "enjoying" a car crash, even though your 2.2-ton SUV makes you feel safe.
All the videos from Drag Times and the Moscow tuning projects have taught us that the BMW X6 is like a national car in Russia. Both generations of the original Sports Activity Coupe are brash, "look at me" statements.

The rakish roof and massive body make the X6 tricky to drive through the congested urban environment. Those thick pillars could make the difference between Running a red light like a boss and getting T-boned by a Lada.

That being said, not all the X6 drivers in this video are to blame. For example, there are some incidents where other motorists cut them off. Even the fire truck that can be seen at one point seems not to have its lights/sirens on.

The BMW X6 is so popular in Russia that there was even a rally racing version. We say 'was' because it crashed after going airborne on a mountain crest. We hope those people are alright!

Several examples appear to be tuned, including a couple of older F71 models fitted with the Hamann package. While the Germans can upgrade your ECU to make more power, there isn't a whole lot they can do to the brakes. Stopping an SUV that weighs as much as two cars is a tough job.

The Russian roads are also to blame fro some of these crashes. I mean, how are you supposed to safely cross six lanes through busy traffic? Old industrial cities without traffic lights, blind corners, and unlight intersections all play their part.

So the next time a hot Russian model tells you she drives a BMW X6 because "it makes me feel safe" just show her this video. Maybe this way we will have fewer trucks on the road!
