BMW X5 Tops Most Stolen Cars in the UK List

In what looks like an interesting marketing scheme, the guys from Tracker claim they did a market research to find out what cars are preferred by thieves in the UK.
According to them, the number one spot in this ad-hoc top went to the BMW X5 that seems to be simply irresistible to car thieves, followed by a plethora of other premium German cars and one English one, Land Rover.

The rankings place the Land Rover Range Rover on the second place, the BMW M3 on third, BMW 3 Series and Audi RS4 on fourth, Mercedes-Benz SLK came in fifth, ML-Class sixth, the M5 and X6 were placed on the seventh place and the E-Class and CLS last.

As you can see, all of these cars are rather expensive and their owners most likely can afford the tracking systems the company that conducted this so-called research is selling.

Could this all be aimed at boosting sales? Of course! Can we say it is? Not really. After all, they do seem to be professional in all their actions and we can’t make such strong statements.

According to their numbers, the company helped return cars worth £8.5 million to their owners last year thanks to their devices, a sum that simply demands respect. We can’t help but wonder how many of them were German...
