Although BMW is currently building one of the world’s greatest SUV, the X5, the German automaker decided not to venture into the pickup truck segment. We won’t find out whether an X5-based pickup would be successful or not, but we just learned that such a vehicle was created... in Australia.
Yup, that’s the country that loves Utes as much as America loves pickup trucks, so we’re not exactly surprised. The project was designed and built by Queensland's Motorland BMW and if you ask us, the result is quite superb. If it weren’t for that Toyota rear window panel, the vehicle could very well be mistaken for a factory prototype.

And that’s because it’s not just a chopped SUV, the guys over at Daily Auto Fix removed the rear doors and fitted the load area with appropriate chrome bars. Have a look at it below and tell us what you think. Would you buy one? We have a feeling such a production car could do well in Australia and even the United States. So how about it BMW?
