This comparison might not be the best, if you ask us. The better comparison would've been between the X3 and the XC60. That is because the 2 cars differ quite a lot and are in different categories.
Anyway, the guys from TFLcar decided this was a fair test and compared the 2 vehicles, as usual in their videos, at 1 mile above sea level. Of course, the test is simply a sprint to the 100 km/h target to see which is faster.

First of all the XC60 is bigger and more spacious than the X1. That is no surprise. It has the swedish top of the line safety features that make it a family car.

Both cars have 3-liter petrol engines. The X1 tested was a xDrive35i model, with the 3-liter 6-cylinder inline engine that develops 300 HP and 406 Nm of torque while the Volvo had the T6 engine which is also a 3-liter petrol turbocharged 300 HP unit with slight advantage of nearly 40 Nm of torque.

The Volvo XC90 weighs 1,937 kg while the X1 weighs 1,765 kg which clearly will make the difference, especially in a drag race. Both cars had automatic 6-speed transmission and all wheel drive so that a missed gear wouldn't affect the final outcome of the sprints to 100 km/h.

The result was clear: the X1 won by almost a second, as it was expected.
