The tuning specialists at Hartge have just launched their latest program designed specifically or the 1.8 and 2.0-litre versions of the BMW X1. Apart from raising the performance figures up a bit, the team has also brought a couple of enhancements inside the car as well.
The 18d engine benefits from a 36 hp increase from 143 hp to 179 hp at 4000 rpm. The maximum torque is also increased to 350 Nm available at 2000 rpm.
This allows the sDrive18d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, some 1.5 seconds faster than the standard version. The maximum speed is also boosted to 217 km/h (17 km/h over the standard model).
On the other hand, the xDrive20d develops 32 hp more than its standard version, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 instead of 8.4 seconds and add another 11 km/h to its maximum speed. Finally, the sDrive20d sprints to 100 km/h in 6.9 instead of 8.1 seconds, while the top speed rises to 229 km/h.
The tuners have also fitted a stainless-steel rear silencer with round tail pipes (80 mm diameter). For all xDrive models from 18d to 28i, Hartge offers a set of sports springs that lowers the car by 30 mm. A set of Hartge emblems for the bonnet and tailgate is also available.
Inside, the BMW X1 gets a three-spoke leather steering wheel with aluminium emblem, a two-part aluminium set of pedals for the automatic version, aluminum footrest, and an aluminum and leather hand-brake. Hartge velour floor mats are also added. Normally in black these mats are also available on request in other colors.
In terms of pricing, the power kit for the 20d costs EUR1,892.10.
