The X1 received a facelift this year, the improved version being unveiled for the first time at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Don’t expect to see major design changes though, as they don’t exist.
The LCI X1 was improved mostly from a technical point of view, receiving the new iDrive system (touch-sensitive controller included) and revised engines, whilst on the outside little details give it away.

However, as is the custom with every major manufacturer from Germany, the new model will arrive in China a bit later than in the US, being scheduled for a first appearance in the communist country at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, in April. The market launch will take place at the same time.

Despite being scheduled to be unveiled 3 months later, the X1 apparently already made it across to Asia, being spotted by Carnewschina completely undisguised on their turf. For the Chinese market, the X1 is being built at the BMW-Brilliance joint plant in Shenyang. Prices are expected to be slightly bigger on the LCI model.
