The battle for the luxury segment in India is getting fiercer every day and BMW is facing real competition from Audi (which had an impressive rise in sales this year) and Mercedes-Benz (which announced a lot of changes for 2013).
Thus, the Indian divison of the Bavarian automaker has decided to launch an improved version. The E82 X1 facelift was revealed at the New York Auto show, back in April. The main differences from the previous version are visible mostly at the interior, where the central console is redesigned, the wheel has new silver inserts and the air con vents have chrome accents.

On the outside, the front and the rear bumper have been slightly retouched. The front grill received new silver accents, the headlamp elements have been slightly detailed, the sills on the lower side of the body have been modified and the wing mirrors are new.

Another expected change by the Indian market is, hopefully, the introduction of the 8-speed automatic transmission, that is known to reduce the fuel consumption pretty drastically, and is already available on the F30 3 Series in the country.
