BMW didn’t bring as many cars as we originally thought they would to the Paris Motor Show, but the Active Tourer Concept is more important than we originally thought, not because it previews the 1-Series Gran Turismo, but because it’s engine is a game changer.
We are of course talking about the 1.5-liter three-cylinder motor that this use, which previews the lineup of TwinPower petrol and diesel three-bangers that will go into a number of BMWs.
On the sidelines of the Paris Motor Show, a source with BMW told Autonews that the three-cylinder will be sold in US models as well. While we’re not included to believe it sounds like a 335i, there’s nothing particularly magical about the 1.6-liter engine in the MINI Cooper.
