BMW Welt’s 20 Millionth Visitor Gets a BMW X1 to Drive for Free for a Year

Eight years ago, the BMW Welt museum opened its doors and started welcoming fans of the brand from across the world, curious to find out even more about the blue and white roundel. Today, the 20 millionth visitor stepped in and got the surprise of a lifetime.

The company chose this family of four from Aachen, Germany, as the winners of a year of testing out the features of the new BMW X1. That’s right, the lucky people will get the new crossover to use for a full year, free of charge. Now that’s lucky.

The festivity surrounding this event was rather small and ad-hoc, but it did include a number of prominent people, including last year’s DTM champion, Marco Wittmann, who was there to present the winners with the key fob to their new ride.

The Mayor of Munich himself, Mr. Dieter Reiter, Helmut Käs, head of the BMW Welt, and visitors from around the world offered their congratulations. While the first two persons mentioned here were on the scene, the others sent their regards via online videos.

"The BMW Welt is the showcase of the BMW Group. All the more we are pleased to welcome the 20 millionth visitor after only eight years. The great popularity of our guests from home and abroad underlines the attractiveness of the BMW Group and all of its brands," Helmut Käs said.

Mayor Dieter Reiter added, "The BMW Welt has become in a few years become a landmark of Munich. It stands for the appeal, appeal and modernity of the city and contributes to the success of Munich in as a tourist destination. Our guests of honor of this day, Christoph Wald, his wife Stefanie and their two children Alina and Fabian We hope you enjoy the new BMW X1."

That being the case, the family can now look forward to testing the first ever front-wheel drive BMW X1 that is supposed to be more practical than ever. It couldn’t have been a better fit since the Germans are marketing this model to young families. It’s all looking too good to be true, as a matter of fact, and some marketing could’ve been involved in the mix. Until we have proof, though, we’ll take their word for it.
