BMW's recent record sales and its impressive history payed off this year. Fortune Magazine just published its yearly top of the most admired companies and the Bavarian manufacturer claimed the No. One spot in the automotive industry.
BMW is ranked 14th most admired company overall, being surpassed by companies like Apple, Google, Coca-Cola and IBM. However, only 2 other car manufacturers made it in the magazine's top 50 and those were Toyota (number 29) and Volkswagen (number 33).

Other important car manufacturers, like Daimler, Honda and General Motors had scores so low that they weren't even mentioned. This goes to show, once again, that quality, tradition and customer attention cannot be replaced and BMW will forever hold a special place in the hearts of gearheads around the world.

According to Fortune Magazine, the reasons for choosing BMW as the most admired auto brand in the world are: "The Rolls-Royce and BMW names are synonymous with luxury – and not just in the carmaker's native Germany. The world's leading premium vehicle manufacturer has earned global renown in places such as Brazil, Russia, India and China. Its progress there, analysts predict, will be particularly lucrative in coming years. The company turned a profit during the recession, unlike most of its competitors."
