BMW Victorious at Road Atlanta in Rolex DP and Continental ST Classes

This weekend BMW had some serious competition in Braselton, Georgia, where the Visual Studio Ultimate Grand Prix of Atlanta was held. The No. 01 TELMEX BMW Riley car, driven by Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas, finished first in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, after leading for 94 of the 120 laps.
Team Sahlen's two BMW Rileys finished 11th and 13th whilst in the GT Class, Turner Motorsport drivers Paul Dalla Lana and Billy Johnson finished 7th in the number 94 M3.

Another BMW win was recorded in the Street Tuner class of the Continental Sports Car Challenge PWC 250, the German cars taking the first 2 steps of the podium and leading the manufacturer top for the moment. The number one spot was claimed by Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra in the no. 23 Burton Racing BMW 128i, followed by Greg Strelzoff and Connor Bloum in the no. 80 BimmerWorld Racing BMW 328.

BMW NA Motorsport Manager, Gordon McDonnel congratulated all the teams fror their results and said that it hopes that even better results will follow.

“Congratulations to the entire CGRFS team. Two wins in the first four races of the season is an excellent way to begin. We saw last year how important every championship point is. Our hats are off to Burton Racing for their first Continental win. We knew it would not be long to see them on top of the podium. With the BMW Team RLL 1-2 at Long Beach this weekend, BMW won in every major sport car race in North America,” said Gordon.
