With the all-new X3 quietly waiting its turn to step into the market and replace the fairly-popular model that saw daylight in 2004, BMW recently brought a final touch to the model year 2009 and the accessories it has to offer to its buyers. A blog post published on the xoutpost.com forums revealed that BMW Australia launched a new series of accessories, unavailable until now on the X3 range.
Curiously enough since the new-generation will be launched next year, the 2009 X3 will now be offered with a fresh navigation system. Specifications are still unclear but it appears the navigation unit is manufactured by Garmin and can be purchased for around $750, installation costs not included.
Another major addition to the accessories lineup is the new so-called BMW Advanced DVD System which would allow rear passengers watch movies, TV shows or listen to music. Unfortunately, the DVD system doesn't come quite cheap.
According to the same blog post, the new gadget will come with a price tag of - hold your breath please! - $8,000 (eight thousand dollars). Obviously, some people would choose to purchase their very own screens and install them in an aftermarket service center. That would surely cut costs even if you choose to buy some large LCD screens...
Other goodies offered to Aussie buyers for model year 2009 are the rear view camera and the side view camera which obviously display surrounding images on the driver's on-board monitor display.
BMW hasn't announced these new gadgets in a press release, so we still don't know for sure whether the company intends to launch the update globally or keep them exclusively for Australians.
