BMW has released the first official images of the Competition Package for the M3, M4 Coupe, and M4 Cabriolet.
The images show a White BMW M4 Coupe fitted with the new package. The exterior design of the three cars available with the package includes an M sports exhaust system with black chrome tailpipes and an extended BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line. The Shadow Line trim on these versions of the M3 and M4 will be applied to the side windows, window recess finishers, the exterior mirror frames and bases, the BMW kidney grille, the side fender grill, and the model badge on the tail. All of the mentioned elements will receive a high-gloss black finish.

The exterior look is completed by an exclusive wheel design. We’re talking about forged 20-inch M alloy wheels that have been machine-polished and optimized for weight savings and maximum rigidity. The front wheels have a 9 J width, while the rear ones have a 10 J width, and are fitted with low-profile performance tires. The wheel style is called 666 M and is a multi-spoke design, as you can see in the photo gallery of this article.

The Competition Package for a BMW M3 or M4 includes an Adaptive M Suspension with a special tune to enhance performance and handling. The suspension has different springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars, while the driving modes available have been reconfigured. Furthermore, the Active M Differential integrated into the standard trim level for these variants benefits from an upgrade, as does the Dynamic Stability Control system.

On the interior, the BMW M3 and the M4 receive special lightweight BMW M3 Sports Seats, but these only come on the sedan and Coupe. The accompanying seat belts have a woven BMW M stripe.

The best part of the Competition Package comes in the power and performance department. Choosing this option for a BMW M3 sedan, M4 Coupe or M4 Cabriolet will bring a power hike of 19 HP to a total maximum output of 450 HP.

The extra power makes the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time drop by 0.1 seconds for the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe fitted with the optional seven-speed M DCT transmission, to only 4.0 seconds. For the M4 Convertible, the 0-62 mph acceleration time is also reduced, but the car needs 4.3 seconds to pull this off.

Fortunately, the acceleration time for manual transmission equipped cars also drops by 0.1 seconds from the standard time. Regarding fuel efficiency, the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe have a combined fuel consumption of 8.3-8.8 liters/100 km, equivalent to 28.3-26.7 MPG. The M4 Convertible has a combined fuel consumption of 8.7-9.1 liters/100 km (27.0-25.8 MPG).
