80 cars, 8 driving events, in seven markets over a total of 74 days are what BMW means by the Ultimate Driving Experience Tour that is bound to set off in Boston, this Saturday, at the Gillette Stadium.
The whole idea behind this endeavor the USA branch of the company is about to embark on is to allow as many Americans as possible to experience the latest cars and technologies developed by the company.

The selected markets for the driving events include: New York/New Jersey (between July 13-20), Chicago, Illinois (July 26-Aug 3), San Francisco, California (August 16-24), Los Angeles, California (September 6-21), New York/Long Island (October 4-12), Miami, Florida (Oct 25-November 2) and Houston Texas (November 9-17).

Furthermore, the Teen Driving School, an extension of the BMW Teen Driving School curriculum taught at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, will be available at the events throughout the nation.

It is a fully interactive, 4-hour driving course on which teens can drive the X3 and 3 Series to learn evasive maneuvers and how to handle skidding on a variety of conditions, offered free of charge by BMW.

This year, a special focus will be given to raising awareness about the perils of texting while driving but not only for teenagers but everyone who drives on a regular basis, under the age of 21.

“The Ultimate Driving Experience is grounded in BMW’s passion for providing driving enthusiasts with the opportunity to get behind the wheel,” said Trudy Hardy, Vice President, Marketing, BMW of North America.

“Incorporating the Teen Driving School into the Experience is an important component of BMW’s continued effort to teach safe driving practices and to educate teens about the dangers of texting and driving,” he added.

The 80 vehicles will include a BMW 335i Sedan, X5 xDrive50i, BMW 2 Series, 4 Series, 6 Series and i3 models, an M235i and even a BMW M3, all of them used for a variety of purposes.

The X5, for example, will be used to showcase the Hill Descent Control feature in its latest version while the M3 and M235i will be used in what BMW calls the “Car Control Clinic”, a full-day driving school that teaches you how to control a powerful rear-wheel-drive car. For this program you’ll have to pay $650 though.
