BMW has strayed far, far away from its path in the the last few years: the company is heading towards ditching natural aspiration altogether, it has placed M badges on diesel vehicles and also announced a range of electric vehicles. However, the latest rumor about the company’s development brings an idea that sound crazy.
BMW could introduce a new model as part of its future i range of eco vehicles, with this being a minivan, as Autobild writes. The source states that the alphanumeric designations of the i3 city and the i8 supercar leave a lot of room for extra models in the range, with the first one being an i5 minivan. The vehicle could be based on the i3’s platform, but should come with more space.

Well, we just won’t buy this this one. Why? You see, while BMW might rush to fill certain gaps in the market, the idea of a minivan really can’t live together with the company’s “ultimate driving machine” We’ll explain even further: we don’t expect the i3 to be too sporty either, but it would make way more sense for BMW to build a city car than a people carrier.

The source also mentions other vehicles, such as an i6 or i7 electric sedan, which seems a bit more plausible.
