It was over 10 years ago when BMW reinvented the rules of marketing and created one of the best campaigns ever made in the auto industry, featuring high-ranking Hollywood names. It was called ‘The Hire’ and the world was more than impressed with it, boosting BMW’s sales by nearly 12 percent.
The series is made up of 8 short films featuring different cars, different scripts and different directors but the same main character, played by Clive Owen, the driver. He’s the man various VIPs turn to for their problems and he’s the one doing some incredible driving. If you’re a BMW fan, you cannot not know it.
Rumors have it that the BMW Group is thinking of creating yet another such series. No particular details have been released but feel free to let your imagination go wild. Times have changed so the new take will include different models, maybe even the i8 and i3, even though they might not be as fun to watch as the good old V8-powered E39 M5.
