BMW Tire Explosion Nearly Causes Huge Highway Crash in Russia

Over the years, cars became more and more powerful, capable of reaching ever higher speeds as they evolved. What most young, unexperienced drivers don't seem to understand though, is that along with higher speeds, all forces applied to the car are increased.

Those forces will apply pressure on all the car's components, not only the engine and gearbox. Amongst those components you'll also find the tires. These, most important parts of a car, are usually overlooked when driving a car. A most dangerous habit.

Having good tires is not only a fancy way of showing people you can afford a new set of rubbers but it's also a very important security factor. This Russian driver learned about tire importance, the hard way.

He was driving an E60 Touring 5 Series along a Russian highway, at a considerable speed. Unfortunately for him, the numbers shown on the speedometer of his car were probably incompatible with his tires' specs and one of them went bust.

The aftermath was unforgiving. He almost crashes into a semi but its driver manages to avoid impact at the last moment, leaving the BMW in the "hand" of the side rails.

This is the perfect example of reckless driving and fortune, as the semi managed to avoid impact and a terrible highway chain accident. Furthermore, this goes to show just how dangerous high speeds are.
