BMW Team RLL Is Prepared for Laguna Seca

After finishing in a most encouraging one-two podium at Long Beach, in the American Le Mans Series, the BMW Team RLL is ready for the next event that will take place this Saturday at the Laguna Seca Raceway, in Monterey, California.

The first race, at Sebring brought forth a couple of problems, the BMW drivers finishing fourth and seventh but after a couple of quick fixes and a revised strategy, the Long Beach event brought smiles and points for the RLL Team.

This Saturday John Edwards will team up with Dirk Muller in the No. 56 Z4 GTE whilst Joey Hand will relax after its debut in the DTM Series. This way, Edwards will return behind the wheel in the ALMS after the season opening race.

The two circuits might have the same number of turns (11) but they are completely different. From the trademark corkscrew turn up to the overall feel of the track, the Laguna Seca Raceway is definitely a more traditional circuit.

“I think the Z4 is going to be suited more to the circuit than the M3 was. Clearly it seems to be a better handling car. While we are still suffering with a lack of straight line speed versus our competitors, Laguna Seca is definitely a handling circuit. I believe the Michelin tires will continue to be an asset," said Team Manager, Bobby Rahal.
