BMW Sports Coupe Concept Study

From time to time, we like to take our eyes off the automotive industry as it is generally agreed to exist and turn our attention to wannabe designers, engineers and such. As you will see in the images below, some of these rendering artist have quite an imagination.

Igor Krasnov, one of the most active Russian rendering artists, has come up with what may be a BMW-badged Sports Coupe.

With no technical details released, the car is only to be looked at and admired. With design cues taken from the interwar era and roots in the 328 Kamm Coupe, the sketch of the Russian designer would fit perfectly in the current BMW line-up.

Of course, as it often happens with such creation, few of them make it into production or are even noticed by carmakers.

In BMW's case, their image is one of the most sought after by rendering artists. Lats year, at least two such renderings caught our eye: the BMW S.X. Concept, developed by Romanian designer Iulian Bumbu, and the M Concept, by Australian Idries Noah.

The former is an interpretation of a possible future for a BMW luxury sports coupe, about the same class with the one created by Igor Krasnov. The S.X. retains the general lines already established in today's BMW's, but abandons them for the lateral design, where it is closer to the lines of Italian cars.

The M Concept on the other hand was created as an Audi R8 contender (it even looks like one). The car was inspired by what’s called in surfing terms a Barrel or Tube, the hollow form of a wave when it breaks.

More of Igor Krasnov's work can be viewed at the following link.
