BMW Sports Car Concept Renderings

As we reported yesterday, a few shots showing the already announced BMW green sports car concept were leaked onto the web for all to see. Although not much could be seen from underneath the wrapping, the design lines of the car could be distinguished, a minor detail {aD}which fueled the imagination of graphic artists around the world.

With the help of the good old Photoshop, designer Jon Sibal took it upon themselves to give us a rendering of the concept, as it sits on the platform on which the car has been shot for the first time. Being a rendering, we will not get into it, as all the details of the car are just a matter of interpretation. Yet, Jonsibal stays true to the general lines of the car's design and presents us with a 5 Series GT-like vehicle, perhaps the forefather of a future 6 Series GT.

Little else is known about the concept, but it promises to usher a new era for BMW. With its official debut in Frankfurt a little over a month away, Klaus Draeger, BMW member of the board says we should expect a "product of sustainable development."

"The BMW EfficientDynamics Vision will demonstrate how efficient a sports car can be. It will also prove that sustainability does not apply to the drive train alone, but to design and materials as well," he said.

As for the name of the concept, word is it will wear the one Draeger hinted, Vision, in the form of either Z Vision or Z6.

The unveiling is not that far away and further details are poised to surface. As for the photo in this piece, as we said, is just a rendering, which may or may not envision the real car. Enjoy!
