The internet has helped create many antiheroes over the years and when it comes to BMWs and drifting, the late Giogri Tevzadze is definitely one of them. The man was all about street drifting, going sideways through busy city traffic. The Georgian driver was killed in a crash last year, but we’ve now come across a clip that may just have a connection with him.
The footage shows a BMW pulling some wrong-way driving on what appears to be a highway in Georgia and the driver isn’t kidding, as the car is traveling at considerable velocity.

Due to the poor video quality, we’re not sure if the guy behind the wheel is Tevzadze, but, there’s a second clue besides the location that reminds us of his reckless actions. The Bimmer we are dealing with here appears to be an E34, while the street drifter used to do his thing in an M5 belonging to that generation of the 5-Series.

Regardless, the driver risks it all, showing no regard whatsoever for the fact that he could cause a massive pileup. We even see some near misses from the cars coming the other way.

Tevzadze was ironically a passenger when he died

Returning to Tevzadze’s death, the man was ironically enjoying a shotgun ride in his M5 when he was killed. One of his friends was driving the M5 in Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital city, when he lost control, with the car sliding and hitting a tree with the passenger side.

While the accident claimed the 26-year-old’s life, the driver was injured, but survived the crash. We’ve added a clip sampling the street drifting the Georgian driver used to do, below the highway footage.

In a dark manner, his fatal crash also reminds us of Paul Walker’s death - the actor was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT driven too fast (according to the police report) by his friend and amateur racing mate Roger Rodas. It’s not easy to figure out why you should take your drifting demons to the track.
