The 2016 BMW 7 Series is getting a lot of flack these days, as we were expecting. People are usually split into two camps whenever a polarizing, important new model is released and the Bavarians’ flagship is no exception.
However, the Germans decided to keep their legacy alive and keep reminding people where it all began. Therefore, they published a video on Youtube, showcasing how the limousine evolved over no less than six generations.

Starting off back in the 70s, the first ever BMW 7 Series was the E23, that entered production in 1977. Back then, the production span of a model wasn’t just 7 years but a lot longer. Let’s say, enough to have people get tired of a design. In the case of the original 7er, that happened after 10 years, when the E32 model was launched, in 1987.

If there’s one thing that all cars had in common, that’s their hunger for innovations. All of them brought out something new in their lifetime and the truth of the matter is, later on, all BMWs received their cutting edge tech later on.

That means that what we’re seeing on the G11 7 Series will be trickling down to other cars as well in the future. Good news for the G30 5 Series, right?

In the end, what you’re hearing today is no different than what was discussed back in 2008, seven years before that, when the Bangle butt showed up and so on. Therefore, I guess it’s better to sit back and enjoy the show. Oh, and the video below, of course!
