It's nice to see the way BMW is thinking about the comfort of the passengers on their bikes: this time it's the luxury tourer K 1600 GTL receiving a nice upgrade in the shape of the all-new passenger armrests.
Since touring often involves long hours spent on the bike as miles are covered by the hundreds, fatigue will surely affect the passenger, too. And to ease up things, armrests are some of the best things out there.
These armrests sport comfortable padding and are ergonomically compatible with the standard top case of the 2012 and 2013 K 1600 GTL. They are sold only as a dealer-installed accessory and BMW recommends installing them in an authorized BMW shop.
With a price of $719.20 (€552) plus installation labor, the BMW K 1600 GTL armrests are not exactly the cheapest upgrade out there, but if full comfort is what your passenger is after, then they're a nifty and useful addition to your tourer. BMW owners should note that these armrests will not fit the K 1600 GT models.
