BMW Security Evo G3 Motorcycle Boot Arrives in the UK

The latest addition to BMW’s rider equipment in the UK is a new lightweight boot for racing and performance riding. Dubbed Security Evo G3 Boot, the item features a two-part construction with a removable inner safety shell and a lightweight outer boot.

This construction technique ensures the wearer that, in the event of a crash, each section can be replaced independently. This obviously also makes the Security Evo G3 Boot an economical option for the riders.

Taken separately, the inner boot is constructed from aramid, which is a heat, solvent and impact resistant synthetic fibre also used in bulletproof vests and flame-retardant garments. It also comprises a triple-layer aramid web over the toes and a four-layer shin guard.

“Able to withstand huge forces, corrosive substances and extreme temperatures, as it doesn't melt and retains its strength in temperatures up to 500ºC, the inner boot is articulated to allow natural rotation of the ankle and movement on the bike,” the company explains.

On the other hand, the outer boot is manufactured from hard-wearing, lightweight kangaroo leather, which offers the same abrasion protection as cowhide but allows the material to be up to 40% thinner, which translates into greater weight savings, improved ventilation and more flexibility.

The outer boot also features a moulded polyurethane gear shift panel on the left side to prevent extra wear, and a non-slip, water- and oil-resistant sole. Plastic toe sliders can be replaced or upgraded with reinforced metal items for increased life.

The black and white BMW Security Evo G3 Boot, built in conjunction with leading performance footwear manufacturer Daytona, is available now in EU sizes 37-48, priced at £490.
