The 2013 Shanghai Auto Show brought some new insights into matters that were unclear until now. The speeches held by BMW China's CEO, Karsten Engel, Herbert Diess, BMW AG Head of Development and Ian Robertson, Head of Marketing and Sales for the BMW Group helped us better understand the future plans of our favorite manufacturer.
Leaving the world premiere of the new BMW X4 Concept aside, probably the most important news that we expected was related to the new sub-brand BMW and Brilliance are currently developing.

We already knew some things about the new brand but all our info was based on rumors so far. Now, Karsten Engel confirmed the new brand and furthermore, stated loud and clear that Zinoro will be sold in China.

Our first reports said that, for the Chinese market, the BMW-Brilliance sub-brand will be sold under the name of "Zhi Nuo" and the Zinoro branded cars will be sold exclusively outside China. Engel said different.

"Just last week, together we announced ZINORO, a new car brand designed for the Chinese market. Underpinning BMW's activities in China is not only our strategy development through the BBA joint venture, but also our exclusive partnership with Brilliance Automotive," said BMW China CEO, Engel at Shanghai.
