It's June and BMW published its sales numbers for both the previous month and the first 5 of the year. Up until now, the projections that the group's CEO made have all come true.
Worldwide, BMW sales grew by 7.8 percent whilst some markets registered bigger percents, some plummeted. In the world's biggest automotive market, China, BMW registered a sales increase of 15%.
The total number of cars sold in May by BMW in the communist country reached 31,938, 14,254 more than Mercedes-Benz in the same month. Overall, since January, BMW and MINI brand cars sold added up to 135,026 units, 10 percent more than in the same period of 2012.
Even though the 10% increase might seem modest, it is well within the BMW China CEO Karsten Engel's projections, that said the automaker expects "low double-digit growth" this year.
