BMW Safety Features Save Man's Life in Australia

Australia is currently facing some serious rains, especially in the Sydney area. As we all know, rain isn't particularly good for rear-wheel-drive cars, like all good BMWs are supposed to be. One unlucky man found that out last night, in Stanmore.

The 41-year old driver was heading home when the accident happened. According to first reports, the smash occurred after the BMW was clipped while traveling side by side with another car. Due to the unfortunate touch between the 2 vehicles, their speed and wet asphalt the Bimmer ended up in a tree.

Fortunately, all the safety features of the car did their job and the owner was able to crawl out safely, with only minor injuries and surrounded by a clod of smoke from the airbags, that panicked the nearby witnesses.

"The guy crawled out and the car was full of smoke, he thought [he] was going to die if it caught fire and exploded. He’s so lucky, he’s a lucky man." nearby resident Dora Gee said.

We have a feeling that luck had nothing to do with it.
