The BMW S1000RR and the Kawasaki ZX-14R are both extremely powerful and fast bikes, though they serve different purposes. While the German machine is built for speed and sport riding, the Japanese has a more pronounced touring character. However, seeing the two race on a straight road is really impressive.
Far from being the ultimate test, we must appreciate how fast is the Team Green machine in the very first portion of the acceleration, and the immense high-rev power of the German beast. However, the Kawasaki has a rev limiter, making this contest an unfair one.
We saw the ZX-14R smoking Hayabusa and putting many other bikes to shame, so we just wish we get to see a race between an S1000RR and a “14” with a flashed ECU. While the Kawasaki is not geared up for extreme speed, we believe the race would be much closer, though. Nice ride... if we just overlook the fact that it takes place on a public road.
