The supersports version of the BMW S1000RR will feature a completely new ABS incorporating four different modes, depending on track conditions and motorcycle settings. In addition, the newly-developed dynamic traction control system (DTC) will provide enhanced stability at higher speeds. “The functional principle of the traction control system has been borrowed directly from racing,” motorcyclenews.com wrote.
“The engine has a very compact cylinder head and is narrow in shape. The valves are activated by means of very small, light cam followers, virtually at Formula 1 level in terms of their dimensions. This construction ensures very high engine speeds and allows maximum freedom in engine design in terms of torque and output.”
BMW's new motorcycle will be available in three different colors, as it follows: Mineral Silver metallic, Acid Green metallic, Thunder Grey metallic and a mix of Alpine White – Lupine Blue – Magma Red (the colors of the BMW Motorrad racing logo). According to the aforementioned source, the bike is expected to be unveiled to the general public as soon as this summer but authorized dealerships are already receiving orders.
Even though the German manufacturer didn't unveil too many photos showing the new motorcycle, the S1000RR looks absolutely brilliant and, despite the fact that the current market conditions may push some fans away from motorcycles, BMW's superbike may have a remarkable success.
