BMW Motorsport organized a beautiful showdown between two of the best drivers to ever race in the DTM Championship behind the wheel of M3s: the first DTM champion, Roberto Ravaglia and last year's Bruno Spengler.
They went head to head on the Hockenheim but this time, in each other's cars. Bruno had the honor to drive the original E30 DTM M3 while Roberto climbed in, behind the wheel of the 2012 DTM Champion car, the E92 M3.
Since there's a 23 year difference between the titles, Roberto started the race with a 23 seconds handicap. However, 23 years of motorsport excellency and progress did make the difference, and the more powerful and aerodynamic 2012 M3 won the race without struggling too much.
Either way, the two guys had a blast, especially Bruno, who has dreamed of driving that car ever since he started watching DTM races and he had to admit this was a rather special moment.
