BMW's Chinese Management Team Remains the Same

Recently, the Chinese media started reporting rumors that the current Management Team of BMW's branch in the Asian country might undergo some serious changes, in light of quality concerns and management issues.

However, BMW China President and CEO Karsten Engel denied the rumors in a recent interview for Caijing, earlier this week. According to him, the BMW Group is satisfied with the performance of the Chinese branch and there is no need for drastic changes.

For the moment, the BMW operations in China won't change in any way, especially since the whole structure has been organized after careful negotiations between the Group, their domestic partners and dealerships throughout the country.

Most rumors came around after Engel took over in China, replacing former CEO Christoph Stark. Some journalists took this move (Engel took this position after leaving behind several years of running BMW's German branch) as a sign of distress, signaling more changes to come.
