BMW Rolls Out M3 Carbon Edition in China

China is rapidly becoming an automotive hub for all of the world’s automakers, as none can afford not to provide its products to consumers there. Because demands has jumped in leaps and bounds and companies are raking in the big bucks there, Chinese car buyers deserve a bit of pampering.

While some carmakers provide extra luxury features like leather and special paint on Chinese limited edition models, BMW does what it does best and has recently revealed a brand new version of the M3 Coupe that’s all about carbon fiber.

Not too long ago, BMW launched the M3 Matte Edition and M3 Tiger Edition, now the Carbon Edition was revealed during the M Legendary Experience event held in China last week and autohome.com.cn was there to take some awesome shots of the superstar.

As you might expect, the M3’s mechanicals have been left intact, while the interior and exterior have been covered in the lightweight material. The roof is now made of of carbon fiber, saving about 8 lbs (4 kg), together with the rear bumper, lip splitters, trunk spoiler, side skirts, hood inlets and interior parts like the dash insert and door trim. The black leather on the seats features a carbon fiber patterned material that is contrasted by white stripes and piping.

The body of the car is only offered in a white pearl metallic finish. Contrasting black stripes that run the full length of the body and decals with the name of the car on the doors complete the factory-tuned look of the M3. The Carbon Edition sits pretty on a set of 19-inch gloss-black lightweight alloy that contrast with the white of the body.

Only 111 examples will ever be made and they will only be available in China at CNY 1.23 million (about $190,000).
