BMW Ring Taxi Killed

The Nurburgring has many things to offer, with the contemporary racing temple catering for every imaginable go-fast need. One of the Green Hell’s most famous “attraction” is the BMW M5 Ring Taxi. However, the image of an M5 blitzing the Nurburgring, with the back end stepping out to generate high levels of adrenaline seems to have come to and end.

The company who runs the Ring Taxi, OK Speed Marketing has confirmed that it will not enter the battle to thrill customers using M5s this year, as Bridgetogantry writes.

The aforementioned source published an email from OK Speed Marketing which makes it clear that the M5 is out of the game. In addition to that the Nurburgring website doesn’t feature the taxi rides offer anymore.

Here is a part of the aforementioned email:

Dear Ring-Taxi customer,

Our preparation for season 2011 has been completed.(We are looking forward to a common Ring-Taxi season 2011.

During our jubilee-season 2011 we enlarged our traditional taxi service. So enjoy with us pure driving fun. Powered by classical sportscars such as Porsche 911 GT3 (415 HP) Clubsport 997 or MINI John Cooper Works (211 HP). Driven by proofed and licensed pilots.

However, the replacement of the M5 is not the only consequence. It seems that OK Speed Marketing and the management of the Ring have broken their connections, which means that the taxi rides are now a lot more expensive. Before we end, we have to say that Sabine Schmitz's future in this story is unclear for us.

Our say: Maybe the release of the F10 BMW M5 (scheduled for the Shanghai Motor Show) will mark the M5’s return.
