BMW Reports Record February Sales in the US

It seems like BMW has no plans of stopping, at least for now, and the German group just announced its best ever February month, after selling over 2 million cars last year. It has to be noted that these results are for the US market alone for now, as the worldwide numbers are still being crunched.

Last month, BMW brand vehicles accounted for 25,201 cars in total compared to 22,017 sold over the same month of 2014. That accounts for a 14.5 percent increase which is stunning all on its own but gets even more impressive when you think about the fact that the North American continent has been facing never before seen amounts of snow this year.

Even so, the company managed to overcome these setback and posted incredible numbers. For example, the i3 was sold in 1,089 units this month alone while the new X5 sales grew by 42.5 percent to 4,149 vehicles (I guess it has something to do with all that snow).

The biggest percentile growth, however, was recorded by the 6 Series that, believe it or not, went up 122.1 percent to 1,237 cars, despite the facelift coming soon enough.

When it comes to the combined numbers (BMW and MINI) the group sold 28,291 units in February, an increase of 18.2 percent compared to the results recorded in 2014 when only 24,476 cars were delivered to their owners.

MINI accounted for 3,720 automobiles which translates to a 51.3 percent increase compared to the 2,459 units that were handed over in February 2015. That is indeed a great result but we have to take into consideration that the numbers for 2014 were greatly affected by the generation switch to the new Hardtop model.
