The record-breaking year continues at BMW as the November sales numbers confirm what the CEO said back in March, when he announced that this will be the best year the German company ever had.
Over the last month, BMW sales increased in the US by 1.7 percent compared to the same month of 2012, reaching 31,752 units. However, overall, the BMW Group sales shrunk by 0.4 percent , reaching a total of 36,327 vehicles compared to 36,461 in the same month, a year ago (BMW and MINI combined).

“Holiday shopping added fuel to our sales giving us the best November ever for BMW and the best year-to-date numbers ever for BMW, for MINI, for Pre-Owned, and for the BMW Group in the U.S. With availability improving on some of our most popular new models, the X5 and 4 Series in particular, we are looking forward to a record finish for the year,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America.

Year-to-date, the BMW Group’s sales in the US rose by 9.2 percent, up to 331,801 units, compared to 303,728 units over the same period of last year. As for the BMW brand vehicles, sales went up 11.4 percent in the last 11 months, making this the best year to date ever, adding up to a total of 271,891 units.

The best selling models were the 3 and 4 Series that added up to 13,148 units (a 22 percent increase) and the X1 with 2,364 units (up 13.2 percent).
