Earlier this year, BMW released the pricing catalogue for the M Performance Parts available for the 2 Series range. Unfortunately, out of the complete list, the most anticipated part was missing.
The Limited-Slip Differential we’re all waiting for wasn’t listed and everyone was wondering just what kind of a price tag it will have and when it will become available.
As it turns out, the LSD is now available for orders on BMW’s website and it costs $2,895 in the US. Of course, to that price tag you also have to add the man hours needed to install it as it is an optional add-on.
According to BMW “the clutch-type mechanical differential features a 30% lockup on acceleration and 9% lockup on deceleration. The differential works with the existing DSC system to provide excellent traction wet or dry.”
That’s great news for us as it seems like the whole thing is basically plug and play. Furthermore, just like all other M Performance Parts, the LSD was tested to provide the proper performance expected of it and comes with a 4-year/50,000 miles warranty. Good times are ahead, folks! Get yours now as we’re pretty sure it will change the way the M235i feels on the road, by quite a lot.
