BMW is recalling 2,475 2012 K1600GT and K1600GTL bikes in the US due to a throttle problem that might cause the engine to stall in certain conditions.
According to the first available information, an incorrect throttle valve control signal may be received by the engine control unit, limiting the engine speed which could stall the engine and therefore, in the case of such heavy bikes, cause a major risk of crashing.
Customers will be notified and the recall campaign will take place this month, with dealers installing the updated throttle control software free of charge.
