Historic BMW Headquarters in Munich
BMW has regained ownership of the very first place where airplane engines were being manufactured between 1918 and 1920. The house is located in Munich, on the Lerchenauer street, in the vicinity of the iconic 4 Cylinders tower and the BMW Museum.
The building offers 1,300 square meters (13,990 sq ft) and was sold to German company Knorr-Bremse in late1920. At that time, Knorr-Bremse used to manufacture braking systems for both railways and trucks.

BMW’s current plans involve moving the operations of the BMW Group Classic to these historic headquarters. This means offices, a reception area, as well as consulting and parts sales, all related to the group’s “historic” machines, including Rolls Royce, Mini and BMW cars and bikes.

Unlike most of the bike manufacturers, BMW Motorrad is extremely dedicated to carrying on the legendary heritage of their machines, two- and four-wheelers alike. In fact, BMW is one of the very few manufacturers who are still offering full catalogs of parts for vintage motorcycles.

This means that customers can find certified spares for their old bikes and have them back in good running condition. And the brand new-od-stock BMW R90S Max BMW Motorcycles built in mid-December 2013 is the perfect proof for how important old, history-laden machinery is for the Bavarian manufacturer.
