Started in 1974, Interbrand managed to become the world's largest brand consultancy company in the world, having over 40 offices on the Globe at the moment. Every year they rank the most valuable companies in the world.
This year, Apple Inc. claimed the number one spot overall, with an estimated value of around USD98 Billion. Runner up was Google with a growth of 34%, now rated at a hefty USD93 Billion, both of the companies overtaking the 13-year long lasting champion, Coca-Cola.

Other notable entries in the top 10 include IBM, Microsoft, McDonald's, Samsung and Intel. However, from the car industry, BMW and Mercedes-Benz came close to the top 10 spots.

BMW was ranked number 12, with an estimated valued of around USD32 billion. With massive gains in markets such as the US and China, 2012 proved to be the most successful year in the company's history. However, all records were broken in 2013 and we'll have to wait another couple of months to see if this is the most profitable year ever recorded.

According to interbrand.com, "as pure driving pleasure and car ownership become less of a demand driver, BMW must meet consumers’ evolving needs while fending off traditional competitors and new entrants such as Tesla."

We're sure the Bavarians will handle a company like Tesla and keep on growing on a month to month basis.
