BMW R nineT Scrambler Previewed, Expected at EICMA

A scrambler developed using the R nineT was one of the things we had coming for quite some time now, but BMW only recently revealed that they had very serious plans with this machine.

We also encountered a lot of renderings that showed what the R nineT Scrambler might look like, and some of them were downright spectacular, with Oberdan Bezzi's Black Sabbath machine being just one of the cool ones.

Still, BMW recently surfaced a new video, almost four minutes long, showing an R nineT Scrambler in action. The bike looks ready to roll, but some things are still in need of clarifications.

EICMA 2015 brings the answers

For starters, the R nineT Scrambler in the video below looks like the real deal, a bike that's ready to hit the street or trail, for what's worth. So far, the R nineT Scrambler reveals traditional forks instead of the upside-down ones the original roadster has, equipped with fork gaiters and with relocated exhaust silencers.

The R nineT Scrambler concept BMW revealed sports dual Akrapovic cans, but it's hard to believe these come in the stock trim. We'd rather go with the cans that are standard on the R nineT, mounted on the new headers and retaining their high position the concept machine shows.

BMW seems to have also revised the shape of the tank, even though the video is not too generous in showing us this aspect. The grooves on the aluminium sideplates appear to have been eliminated in favor of a more traditional attire.

A different, yet still retro headlight appears to have also been chosen for the R nineT Scrambler, in an effort to add more "yore vibe" to the bike.

The color choices are also different from those of the base model, and this is a natural move. The tail section and seat also look different from the base R nineT, as it was "scramblerized" a bit, with the passenger section reduced and no pegs present.

How the final production version of the R nineT Scrambler looks we'll find out next week, as we expect BMW to bring the bike at EICMA.
