At the beginning of next month, Paris will turn from the fashion capital of the world into the auto capital of the world, as the Mondial de L’Auto, or the Paris Motor Show, opens for ten full days of motoring extravaganza.
Some carmakers have already begun presenting part of their lineup for the show, but on Wednesday BMW became the first to announce the full display of cars which it will bring to Porte de Versailles.
This auto show is of particular importance for the German brand, as it will be showing for the first time in public the new design language on a number of vehicle segments. Also, digitalization (including automated driving, connectivity, electrification, and services) is a key feature of BMW’s cars to be presented at the show.
“The latest results of BMW’s ongoing product offensive are taking center stage at the brand’s Mondial de l’Automobile 2018 show stand in Paris,” said BMW.
“Emotion-packed design, pioneering technology and an even more richly engaging form of driving pleasure define the character of the new models BMW is presenting at the most important date on Europe’s 2018 car show calendar.”
The star of the event will undoubtedly be the recently unveiled Z4, the newest interpretation of the iconic soft-top. But that doesn’t mean other equally exciting models won’t be on display.
The new BMW 8 Series Coupe, presented in June, will also make its first public outing in Paris, accompanied by another of this summer’s unveilings, the new X5.
For M fans, the BMW booth will be showing the M5 Competition, the V8-powered, most powerful and sportiest variant of the sedan ever made.
Officially, the carmaker didn’t mention having prepared any concept cars for the show, but we’re hopeful at least the Vision iNext that was just shown to the media will make it on the floor.
