At this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, BMW will be bringing out four North American debuts in the shape of the BMW 330e, M4 GTS, 2016 X1 and 2016 7 Series. All of them will be available for viewing starting with November 18 at the BMW Stand at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Of course, those won’t be the only cars present on the set, as the Germans will showcase the X5 xDrive40e, BMW i8, and i3 as well within the BMW stand. However, the focus will be on the debuts.

Even though the M4 GTS and new 7 Series are both icons for the BMW brand, we think the biggest focus will be on the 330e plug-in hybrid, a car that is supposed to fill a void left by the diesel alternatives that aren’t doing too well these days because of Volkswagen.

The 330e is the first plug-in model in the 3 Series’ history and uses a powertrain made up of a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine under the hood, along with an electric motor inside the gearbox casing, together delivering 252 PS (248 HP) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. It should be enough for a sprint up to 60 mph that takes 5.9 seconds. In electric mode, the car should be able to reach 75 mph (120 km/h) and a range of over 20 miles.

Up next in terms of interest will be the M4 GTS, the fastest car the Germans have ever made. With a unique take on the 3-liter twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that was taken up to 500 HP and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque thanks to an industry-wide first (water cooling injection), the bespoke model will accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds.

That’s just part of the unique character of the GTS that has been enhanced in all other key areas such as aerodynamics and weight optimization. Thanks to this combined effort, a Nurburgring lap reportedly takes just 7:28 aboard the M4 GTS.

As for the X1, the new crossover will soon begin deliveries, being the first car with such a tall body built atop the UKL platform. Moving to a front-wheel drive configuration, the SUV will come with a range of 2-liter mills under the hood. In the US, the car will only be available in xDrive guise.

The 7 Series is the most advanced flagship of the moment, bringing out 13 industry-wide premieres and 25 firsts for the blue and white roundel alone. Amongst its most notable you’ll find the carbon core chassis, the gesture control feature, remote parking, and many many more.

All of this and more will be available for your viewing pleasure at the LA Auto Show starting November 18.
