BMW Power Blog: The Ultimate Writing Machine!

The past few years have seen the automotive industry on a turbocharged curse to growth. The glory days are always "now", rather than "in the good ol' days", as automotive design has come to the point where it simply moves you, speaking directly to your soul, while technology fitted to halo models puts the Starship Enterprise to shame.
Turbocharging is now the norm, while having your every driving decision helped and monitored by sensors, electronic aids and global positioning satellites seems perfectly normal. Just like the automobile itself, we the journalists can no longer be bound by the old restrictions and must change, branching out into directions that have less to do with the Wall Street Journal's weekend column and more to do with passionate forum users. Cars sold today stand for unlimited freedom of expression and movement, and so must our stories.

When the flier or car brochure is replaced by the smartphone app and Youtube video, you know you're not in Kansas any more, you're at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, and everybody is holding iPhones. Fortunately, autoevolution has always had a young, dynamic team of carnuts journalists.

After careful deliberation and long hours of looking at drifting videos, we decided niches were what you guys wanted. Instead of offering something that's a little different, you guys actually want more of the same. Let me explain before you start thinking a straightjacket is in order.

Every story about a new car or tuning project has a "core" around which it is built, a backbone to which we "bolt on" the engine output, performance, design elements or equipment of every individual car. Like every family sedan is a little different from from its rival, so too are the stories about them. But thanks to the digital era, our readers sometimes know as much as we do about the latest BMW 3-Series, Ford Focus or Toyota Corolla, so what they really need is more information about one particular brand of car.

You can kind of see where this is going, can't you! autoevolution's BMW Power blog is our first mono-brand section, dedicated to the hardcore Bimmer fans who want to enjoy the most up to date and model-specific information possible.

From its inception, we wanted the BMW Power blog to offer everything you guys need.

The BMW News section will keep you up to date with everything that's happening for both the BMW and MINI brands. If it's got a propeller badge or a Hofmeister kink, we'll have the latest info on it!

No respectable BMW fan can ignore the tuning scene, and our dedicated section will play a key role for the blog. More than any old-school tuning website, our clear and concise BMW Tuning cravers will find the latest body kits, wheel options and custom wraps that add an exclusive touch.

BMWs are mechanical creatures, and few owners can resist the temptation to get the spanners out and tinker around. That's why we created a "Tips & Upgrades" section, where you can find everything from iPhone syncing to unleashing the true potential of your straight-six.

We like to surf from our iPads as much as the next guy, and we created a special "Photos & Videos" area just for that, so you can look at all those sexy cars bits without having to go through the stories.

Lastly, the Test Drive section will keep you up to date with the latest model reviews from all over the web. Follow it and you'll be up to speed with the latest BMW's features even before it reaches your local showroom.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
