BMW MZ8 Envisioned

According to its creator, the MZ8, which commemorates 40 years of BMW Motorsport, is a modern interpretation of the M philosophy based on the Z8 and 8-Series models. Jourd’hui chose to redesign BMW’s trademark kidney grille in order to give the car a “stronger character” and gifted the MZ8 with a removable hardtop.

But that’s not all! In order to make it even more distinguished, Christophe designated the MZ8 to be powered by a rear mid-mounted biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine good for 600 horsepower. In short, this is the same powerplant found in the current generation BMW M5, M6, X5M and X6M models.

The BMW 8-Series was built between 1989 and 1999 in just 31,062 units. The grand tourer was powered by either a V8 or a V12 engine and was designed by Klaus Kapitza. On the other hand, the Z8 roadster was manufactured for only five years (1999-2003) and in 555 examples. The modern iteration of the 507 was designed by Henrik Fisker.
