Dressed to the nines, the BMW representatives arrived at the event in a DTM M3 Safety Car, a sure way to make the whole audience turn their heads at the red carpet event.

The 1,800 guests, including stars from the world of sport, political figures and entertainment, had the opportunity to go head to head in a number of fun activities.

The whole purpose of the 43rd staging of this gala was to raise money for the German Sports Aid Foundation, which is dedicated to helping athletes that represent their country at the highest level. DTM is usually one of the most important partners in sport-related fund-raising in Europe. The event's slogan was "Symphony of Wheels" (Symphonie der Räder) and the BMW representatives competed in archery, hockey and curling and showed their skills and competitive spirit. Martin Tomczyk even managed to tear his trousers while curling.

“The ‘Ball des Sports’ is always a fantastic spectacle. I had great fun there again. That was my sixth time. On one hand, it is obviously great to support the charity behind this event. On the other hand, I think it is great when so many sportsmen and women meet up and celebrate together,” Tomczyk said.

“Yes, I really enjoyed myself too. The show on the stage was excellent. The programme at the ‘Ball des Sports’ is fantastic every year. I was then able to take a look around and met a lot of sportsmen and women, which is always great,” Spengler added.
