At the 52nd BMW Sports Trophy Award ceremony, in Munich, BMW Motorsport took the time to present the 2014 Calendar for all of its teams and competitions.

The American Le Mans Series (or ALMS for short) will be replaced this year by the United Sports Car Championship (USCC) in the US. Alongside this competition, BMWs will also be racing in the BMW Sports Trophy, Formula BMW Talent Cup and the DTM, of course.

“BMW fans all over the world can once again look forward to a season packed with highlights in 2014,” said Marquardt. “In the DTM, we are now entering our third season since we made our comeback in 2012. Armed with the new BMW M4 DTM, our goal is obviously to both defend the Manufacturers’ title and to win the Drivers’ Championship again,” said Jens Marquardt, BMW Motorsport Director at the event.

No less than 8 new M4 DTM cars will start the 2014 season for BMW, 2 for each team: RBM, Schnitzer, MTEK and RMG. Drivers will mostly remain the same excepting two rookies: Maxime Martin and Antonio Felix da Costa.

In the USCC BMW Team RLL will line up for BMW Motorsport with two BMW Z4GTEs in the GT Le Mans class. Maxime Martin’s place will be taken by Andy Priaulx after the Brit’s adventure in the DTM, this season.

In the BMW Sports Trophy, the BMW M235i Racing will be definitely one of the highlights, joining the BMW Z4 GT3 as a perfect customer car for motorsport events. In the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race (that will take place on 21st/22nd June 2014), BMW Team Schubert and BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS will be racing BMW Z4 GT3s.
