BMW Motorrad Rumored to Team Up with TVS

BMW Motorrad Rumored to Team Up with TVS 1 photo
Indian bike manufacturer TVS and BMW Motorrad have been in a commercial relationship for quite some time now, and this is no secret. However, it looks like the two are planning something more serious, or at least this is what ou Indian source tells us.
Rumor has it that BMW Motorrad and TVS are in advanced discussions and negotiations and this could lead to the Bavarians staring producing motorcycles in TVS' Chennai plant. If this happens, both manufacturers will be in for some hefty profits in multiple directions.

The first and most important is that BMW bikes will be available in Asia for a significantly lower price, given the absence of import duties. Then it BMW being able to make a bigger profit by selling bikes with lower production costs and maybe entering in the small-displacement and middleweight segments, in Asia, Europe and other markets: we'd really like to see an S250R, and we're not the only ones.

On the other hand, TVS could use some of the parts BMW uses, just like Bajaj shares some parts with the KTMs. And this means better TVS machines and happier customers. And an chance for BMW to chew a bigger part of the cake KTM enjoys on their own at the moment. Tipped by Faisal at Motorbeam.
